What is Public Notice? How does it benefit the purchaser?

- by Shenoy, Rajajinagar

Though not a statutory requirement, the idea of publishing a notice in a newspaper is to inform the general public that a bona fide purchaser is purchasing the property. The notice invites objections from the interested persons with documentary evidence in support of their claim within a specific period. Even after a public notice is published a person who has any claim to the property does not lose his rights if he does not disclose his rights in response to the public notice.

These are all the legal questions answered by Advocate S.Selvakumar in various magazines, in various occasion including realestate reporter monthly.
