What is the procedure for getting the Khata transferred in the name of the present owner and the actual cost involved therein? How to find out whether the Khata transfer certificate is original or not?

The Khata is a revenue record standing in the name of the owner of the immoveable property. The jurisdictional corporation office transfers the Khata to name of the purchaser. A copy of sale deed in favour of the purchaser,  latest tax paid receipt and upto date encumbrance certificate are to be enclosed to khata transfer form. The prescribed fees is 2% of the stamp duty paid  on the sale deed. You may obtain the Khata certificate directly from the jurisdictional corporation office to  ascertain its genuineness.
