I am staying in rental accommodation and I have deposited a sum of 25000/-. It is clearly mentioned in the agreement that if I want to vacate the premises, I am required to give one month’s notice and I will get back my deposit money. Is there any statutory time limit within which I should get back my security deposit?

If your agreement with the landlord stipulates that your landlord will refund your security deposit at the time of your vacating the premises upon your giving a month’s notice of your intention to vacate the premises,  the landlord is bound by that agreement.
