How to Revoke a Will?

Will executed by the Testator can be revoked at any time before the death. However, there are certain modes in revoking the Wills.

1. Will executed by Testator can be revoked by operation of law.

2. Testator can revoke the will by writing in the following manner:

Writing another Will or Codicil. Such a Will or Codicil will automatically revoke the Will written earlier.

The testator can also revoke by a written declaration, declaring the intention to revoke, which requires compliance of certain formalities as envisaged under Indian Succession Act, 1925.

Will can be revoked by physical destruction by way of burning, tearing or by any other  mode of  destroying.
